Bullock’s Royal Marionettes: Dublin 1878

Bullocks Royal Marionettes ProgrammeOn this month…
September 1878 saw a visit to Dublin by Bullock’s Royal Marionettes, who performed, at 3pm and 8pm daily, in the Rotunda’s Concert Rooms (now the Ambassador Cinema) in Dublin.
An Irish Times review, 24th September 1878, reads:
“The Royal Marionettes, or Puppets, are wonderful things in their way. Many of them are life-sized and so well formed as that at first sight they appear to the uninitiated as almost animated. The Ballet Dance is a cleaver arrangement and as for the various pantomimic tricks, they are really marvels.”
